June 22β24, 2025 #ASEANclass #BETU #EE362
Β Β Β Β As part of the course EE362 Contemporary Issues in ASEAN, students from the Faculty of Economics participated in a field-based learning trip to Vientiane, Lao PDR, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chayanee Chawanote and Assistant Professor Dr. Nessara Sukkaphanich.
ποΈ The group was honored to visit the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, where officials discussed regional cooperation, Thai-Lao bilateral relations, and cross-border business opportunities.
πΌ In addition, sessions with Minister Counsellor (Commercial) and Bangkok Bank (Vientiane Branch) provided further perspectives on the role of Thai investment, trade facilities, and financial institutions in Laosβs economy. The visit offered direct insights into how Laos is managing its development amid changing regional dynamics and economic challenges such as inflation, labor migration, and youth out migration from the education system.
π A key academic highlight was the visit to the National University of Laos, where students attended a special briefing on Laos’ economic development, investment challenges, and environmental issue management.
