B.E. International Program students Participate in IGNITE Thailand in Kuala Lumpur: Enhancing Thailand-Malaysia Cross Border Connectivity Through Public-Private Partnership.

Students from the EE362 Contemporary Issues in ASEAN Countries class recently had the opportunity to visit and gain insights from the event on July 1,2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, thanks to the Royal Embassy invitation.
On July 1, 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, and Dr. Mohd Shaharin Bin Umar, Director of Regional Development Division, representing YBHG. Dato’ Nor Azmie Diron, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economy of Malaysia, jointly officiated the event at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel and Convention Centre.

The economic forum consisted of four panel sessions:

1. Thailand-Malaysia Cross Border Physical Connectivity Projects with Trade and Investment Opportunities

2. Thailand-Malaysia Halal Industry Development and Cooperation

3. Talk with Thai Food Importers and Exporters

4. Talk with Thai Biz in Malaysia

These sessions were attended by key Thai-Malaysian actors from the public and private sectors in the respective areas. Throughout these visits, the BE Program students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the working processes, and have knowledge and perspectives exchange related to the economy, society, and various economic policies of Malaysia. The students gained invaluable insights from experienced professionals, further enriching their understanding of the cross-cultural context.

On behalf of the BE Program, we express our gratitude to all the participating organizations for providing this amazing opportunity and extending a warm welcome. This experience has been truly remarkable for the BE students, who can now apply this knowledge to their classroom learning and beyond.
